About SmileCharts
We believe every parent deserves to understand and support their child's educational journey—regardless of the language they speak at home.
Our Mission
Helping Teachers Communicate with Every Parent
SmileCharts was created by educators who saw firsthand the challenge of communicating student progress to non-English speaking families. We build tools that bridge this gap, one behavior chart at a time.
Why We Built This
In diverse classrooms across America, teachers work with students from dozens of language backgrounds. While schools often have translators for parent-teacher conferences, the day-to-day communication—like behavior charts that go home weekly—often gets lost in translation.
SmileCharts solves this by automatically translating behavior goals into the parent's native language, complete with a QR code they can scan to view the information on their phone.
Our Values
Accessibility
Every feature is designed to be simple enough for teachers with zero technical background and parents who may be unfamiliar with school systems.
Inclusivity
We support 15+ languages including Spanish, Arabic, Mandarin, Haitian Creole, and more—covering the most common home languages in K-12 schools.
Privacy
We never store student names or data on our servers. Everything stays in your browser or encoded safely in the QR code.
For Educators, By Educators
SmileCharts is built with input from K-12 teachers, special education specialists, and ELL coordinators. We understand the unique challenges of classroom management and parent communication because we've lived them.
Our tool is designed to fit seamlessly into your existing workflow—create a chart in minutes, print it, and send it home. No training required.
